BEDFORD -- Angel Pedro Serrano, 62, known as Eric Serrano, was a bass player extraordinaire who was called to heaven Tuesday, July 1, 2014.
Memorial: 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Greenwood Chapel. After the service, there will be an all-star tribute at Frankie D's, 300 W. Central Ave., Fort Worth, five minutes from Greenwood Chapel.
Angel Pedro "Eric" Serrano was born April 14, 1952, in Ponce, P.R., to Angel Serrano and Dionisia Jimenez Serrano. Eric was a brilliant musician, teacher, brother and father who was raised in New York City (Spanish Harlem) and came to Texas in 1985. He was a great inspiration and mentor for countless musicians, men and women.
Eric was the best in life, love and music and we will never be the same without him. Those of us who knew him share a great bond and comfort knowing he's in a better place surrounded by his loved ones away from all the pain and struggle resting in peace.
Eric was preceded in death by his parents and brother.
Survivors: Wife, Cecelia Serrano; son, Eric Angel Serrano and wife, Laura Luevano-Serrano; daughter, Kristina Serrano; six grandchildren; sister, Cruz Cabassa; and former spouse, Helen Telleria.
