FORT WORTH -- Audrey Marie Lay, 98, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, July 5, 2014.
Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Greenwood.

Audrey was affectionately known to many as "Auntie" or "Audie." Her lifelong calling was that of nurse after serving 44 years in uniform. She loved being with family more than anything and her home was always open for family gatherings. As part of the Kilgore College Rangerette family, she was an adopted "mom" to many. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Watauga.
A special thanks to Dr. Paul Goldman, the staff of Interim and Heart to Heart Hospices, as well as Caring Seniors Services.
She was preceded in death by dear husband, Raymond Lay; beloved son, Bill Harmon; and granddaughter, Kristi Johnson.
Survivors: Daughter, Barbara Malm of Watauga; sister, Frances Simmons and husband, Bill, of Bailey; brother-in-law, Bob Mowell of Fort Worth; stepson, Sandy Lay of Wichita Falls; grandchildren, Wayne Terry, Robbie Terry, Jessica Menasian, Adra Taylor; several great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Dorothy Mize, Mike and Railena Alexander.
