FORT WORTH -- John E. Gulley, 87, passed away peacefully Friday, July 4, 2014.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday, July 11, in Greenwood Garden Chapel. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park.
John Ellsworth Gulley was born March 10, 1927, in Little Rock, Ark., to John and Lillian Gulley. He grew up and attended school in Little Rock and then enlisted in the Army. After serving in the Army, he attended the University of Oklahoma and earned his degree in mechanical engineering. He married Elsie Jane Loomis in 1951 and moved to Fort Worth, where he became a successful engineer for General Dynamics. He worked for General Dynamics for 43 years until his retirement.
John was a beloved husband, father and grandfather who provided both love and guidance to his family and friends throughout his life and retirement.
John was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a younger brother.
Survivors: Wife, Elsie Jane; son, John Gulley and wife, JoAnn; daughter, Linda Gulley; son, James Gulley and wife, Sarah; and grandchildren, Grace M. Gulley, John A. Gulley and Timothy A. Martin.
