FORT WORTH – Virginia Faye Yarborough, 93, died Wednesday, August 13, 2014.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 3:30 p.m., Monday in the Greenwood Chapel.
Virginia was born September 21, 1920 in the oilfields of Burkburnett, TX, to Dewey and Winnie Denson. Shortly thereafter, Dewey and Winnie purchased a farm in Dangerfield, TX, and raised Virginia there. Virginia pursued various careers from nursing to business before finding her calling in serving others through teaching and mission work. Virginia was a spiritual person who loved God and spent a lifetime practicing and witnessing her faith.
Her mission work took her to many locations around the world in the 1940's and 50's and again in the 1990's. She taught and worked at orphanages from the USA to Cambodia , she helped start a school for underprivileged children in Louisiana in the 1940's, helped start a women and children's shelter in Tennessee in the 1990's.
Virginia loved adventure and different cultures and traveled the world extensively stepping foot on 5 of the 7 continents. She enjoyed reading as well as playing board and card games with friends and family. Gardening was hobby that she excelled at. After retiring from mission work, Virginia spent the duration of her life focusing on family and the church she loved.
Survived by a loving family and host of friends.
