SPRINGTOWN -- Wanda Loraine Moorefield, 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at her home, Pleasant Oaks Ranch.
Funeral: 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Greenwood.
Wanda was born July 31, 1923, in Fort Worth and was the second child of the late Nell and George Grant. Wanda graduated with a bachelor's of science in education from the University of North Texas in 1945. She married her soulmate, the late Joseph Clanton Moorefield Sr., on Dec. 21, 1945. In the early years Wanda and her husband were entrepreneurs, owning several small businesses in the Fort Worth area. She also was a teacher in the Fort Worth ISD. They were avid travelers and took many trips with their friends and family. Her later years were spent caring for her father and helping operate her home, The Pleasant Oaks Ranch.
She was devoted to her family and always said she was happiest with them.
Wanda was preceded in death by her brother, George Herald Grant; husband, Joseph Clanton Moorefield Sr.; and son, Joseph Clanton Moorefield Jr.
Survivors: Granddaughters, Jill Moorefield Andrews and boyfriend, Paul Carter, and Jessica Young and her husband, Sean Young, with their mother, Constance Joy Moorefield; and great-grandchildren, Kaytlyn Andrews, Joseph Young and James Young.
